I have spent a month in Gaeta now. A lovely little sea-side town between Roma and Napoli. The local region, Lazio, is a ‘yellow zone’ under the current Italian Covid-19 decree. Much better than some other areas in the country but it still means that restaurants close at 18 and there is a curfew in place every night from 22. Not the Italy that most of us are used to but it is frequently around 16-18 degrees and sunny so I am not complaining.
There are ten boats or so with live-aboards in the marina. Primarily couples from Europe, America and South Africa. Some that are new to this life, some that are stuck due to the pandemic and one couple that has cruised the world for 25 years and appears best prepared to handle hick-ups like closed borders and changed plans. More on marina life at a later stage. In the meantime, here are some pictures of Gaeta.
